Just a little over 4 years ago, Blake McKnight was competing with his St. Louis Patriots teammates at the Homeschool World Series. As he finished his senior year, he knew he had an offer to play baseball at Evangel University in Springfield, MO, but he had no idea how that would go, or how much longer he would have a chance to play the game he loved.

McKnight went on to star on the mound for 4 years at Evangel, posting a gleaming 1.56 ERA and 0.78 WHIP as a starting pitcher in his senior year. He has now become the first player ever drafted from the school when the St. Louis Cardinals made him their selection in the 38th round of today’s MLB amateur draft.

Hard work and talent can come together to make dreams come true! Show them what you’ve got Blake… HWSA Nation will be watching and cheering for you!
